At Tokyo Institute of Technology, this example of a bottom-up parser was designed and tested using the PROLOG programming language. It was proven to be efficient. The ICOT Fifth Generation Project used a similar method and transcribed the code into the C language to improve performance. Having studied with Tanaka, and having worked with the ICOT project, I looked closely at this bottom-up approach, and my ontology-based approach is also bottom-up.
