Brain ConnectionsAxon fibers that conduct impulses toward the brain, or within the brain toward the center of the neuron. In the computational metaphor, an afferent would be represented by an input device or channel such as a keyboard, mouse or microphone. Afferent neurons are peripheral sensory neurons that collect information from the body and transmit it toward the central nervous system.
