The way things and people act and the study of the same. Some scientists believe that the best or most important things you can learn about things and people are only relevant in the context of behavior. Empiricists tend to put a lot of stock in behavior. A balanced perspective considers behavior an important property, but does not discount experimental or structural knowledge about other properties of the thing or person.
