20 Mar language

A set or system of symbols used to communicate. Languages are usually governed by rules (always syntactic and semantic) that constrain exactly how we arrange the symbols to communicate the desired message. The expressiveness of the language increases exponentially with the size of the lexicon. The complexity of interpreting a language increases with the number of rules that can be applied.
