20 Mar mamillary bodies

Two protuberances in the hypothalamus that resemble nipples. They are associated with memory-access functions, particularly accessing stored knowledge to interpret sensory input. When they are damaged, memory loss or amnesia of specific areas of knowledge occasionally results.
