Marvin Minsky is one of the founding fathers of artificial intelligence. He and Seymore Papert got in on the ground floor of the neural network fray as they challenged Rosenblatt’s early perceptron model. Knowledge representation is a core issue in cognitive modeling and one that is simultaneously a strength and weakness of the connectionist neural-network models.
