Title: Kolmogorov Complexity and Information Theory (in Journal of Logic, Language and Information)

Year: 2003

Publisher: Kluwer Academic Publishers: Netherlands

I like this work because they approach questions of knowledge and complexity in the framework of Dialog between a person articulating meaning and a person attempting to understand meaning. To me stories and dialog are the key to deep understanding and actionability. As the authors compare Shannon’s and Kolmogorov’s approaches to evaluating information complexity and approaches for delivering knowledge, they show interesting counterpoints and contrasts in the way you can look into information and deconstruct it. If information theory interests you, please read this.
