The importance of real-world knowledge in interpretation of language is underscored by this monograph on the human universal of categorizing objects. If we develop a taxonomy that puts everything in its place, then an essential component of cognition is traversing this taxonomy. Schank’s arguments in favor of this kind of a scheme are convincing.
